A Classplus alternative built for the individual tutor
Classplus, Teachmint and similar platforms are built for coaching institutes that want a branded app, a course catalogue and a sales team. A home tutor with 10 to 30 students usually needs only fee collection, attendance and parent updates. FeeSaathi does that narrow job on WhatsApp, asks the parent to install nothing, and is free for the first 10 students.
These are not the same product
It is worth being fair to the institute platforms. Classplus and Teachmint solve a real problem well: a coaching centre that wants its own branded app, video courses, test series, batch management and a team to call parents. If that is what you are building, they are the right tools and this page is not for you.
The mismatch shows up when a single tutor with 14 students signs up for one. The onboarding assumes batches, the pricing assumes institute revenue, and the parent is asked to download an app for one tuition class a day. Most never do, and the tutor ends up back on WhatsApp with a monthly subscription running.
What to compare on
| Question to ask | Why it decides the outcome |
|---|---|
| Does the parent have to install anything? | This is the single biggest reason tools go unused. Parents will install an app for a school. They will not install one for one tutor. |
| Who holds the fee money? | Some platforms settle through their own account. Check whether the money lands with you directly and on what timeline. |
| What does it cost at 10 students? | Institute pricing assumes hundreds of students. Divide the annual cost by your actual student count before deciding. |
| How long until a reminder goes out? | If setting it up takes a weekend, it will not survive the first busy month. |
| What happens to your data if you leave? | Your student list and fee history are the only records you have. Check that you can export them. |
Where FeeSaathi sits
| Institute platforms | FeeSaathi | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Coaching centres and institutes | The individual tutor and small batches |
| Parent has to install an app | Usually yes | No, everything is on WhatsApp |
| Branded app, courses, test series | Yes | No |
| Fee reminders with a payment link | Yes | Yes |
| Where the money settles | Varies by platform | Your own UPI or Razorpay account |
| Cost at 10 students | Institute pricing | Free |
Read that table as what each product is for, not as a scorecard. A platform having courses and a branded app is a feature, not a flaw. It is simply a different job from the one a home tutor is trying to get done.
The honest version
FeeSaathi is early. It went live on 23 August 2026, it is built by one person, and it does not have the feature depth of a funded platform. What it has is the right shape for a tutor who wants fees collected without asking anybody to download anything, and a free tier that lets you find out in an evening rather than after a sales call.
Questions tutors ask
Is FeeSaathi a replacement for Classplus?
Not for a coaching institute that wants a branded app and course delivery. It is a replacement for the spreadsheet-and-WhatsApp routine that an individual tutor runs today.
Do I need to be a registered business to use it?
No. Independent tutors use it on a personal UPI ID. Nothing in the product requires a registered entity.
Can I move my student list across?
Yes. You can add students manually, and if you have an Excel register the founder will migrate it for you on a short call.
What does FeeSaathi not do?
No video courses, no test series, no branded mobile app for your students, and no parent-side tutor directory yet. The directory is in build.
How much does it cost after 10 students?
A paid tier is coming, priced for an individual tutor rather than an institute. The first 10 students stay free.
Try it on your own students
Add your students, tap once, and every parent gets a WhatsApp reminder with your UPI link. Free for your first 10 students, no card.
